13-year-old riding mini-bike killed in collision with car on Lynn Drive in Pearland, police say

PEARLAND, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after a 13-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a driver in Pearland on Saturday, according to police.

According to the Pearland Police Department, officers responded to the crash in the 2400 block of Lynn Drive at 11:09 a.m.

Police said that the boy was riding on a small, gas-powered mini bike when he collided with the car.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Law enforcement says that the driver stayed at the scene.

Kassandra Falcon said the teen was her nephew, Nicholas.

“He was the light of everyone’s life, honestly,” Falcon said. “His passion was basketball. He was MVP for his school.”

Falcon described him as a friend to many, a loving brother and son, and someone with a deep sense of spirituality at a young age.

“He had a strong faith with God,” Falcon said.

Now, this family is leaning on their own faith as they try to keep his spirit and memory alive.

“We want everyone to know, like, who he was,” Falcon said. “Goofy, always had everyone laughing.”
