HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Appearing before a magistrate on Sunday, 38-year-old Michael Lecroy listened to the allegations. He’s accused of following a driver and repeatedly shooting at him.
“This is a road rage incident. It’s alleged that the defendant shot 13 (bullets) at the complaining witness,” the magistrate said.
Eyewitness News was at the Pasadena Police Department on Sept. 5, when the victim arrived at the station for help.
“We had a victim who showed up to our station who was the victim of a road rage incident,” police said in an unrelated press conference on Sept. 5.
Police said the victim admitted to cutting Lecroy off near Allen Genoa and Spencer Highway. Police say Lecroy became aggressive and followed him for about a mile, repeatedly firing a gun at him.
Of the 13 shots Lecroy allegedly fired, one bullet grazed the victim’s back but investigators told ABC13 he refused a ride to the hospital and the wound was not life-threatening.
Lecroy drove away and was later arrested at an apartment complex where, the magistrate said he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance.
Court records show Lecroy has a record of drug possession and assault dating back to 2004.
On Sunday, he was given a combined bond of $42,500. He’s still in jail.
