Mother and 3 children hospitalized as investigation unfolds near Liberty County pond along FM 1008, official says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A mother and her three children have been hospitalized as an investigation is underway at a Liberty County home Monday morning, a spokesperson told ABC13.

SkyEye flew over the active scene near FM 1008 in Dayton shortly after 7 a.m. Several law enforcement officers could be seen investigating near a large body of water next to the home.

It’s unclear what happened, but SkyEye spotted two Life Flight helicopters not too far from the scene.

Captain David Meyers with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office told Eyewitness News the mother and three kids were taken to the hospital, with the mother and one child taken by Life Flight.

The captain said the two other children were taken by ambulance.

Meyers said they’re still working to determine exactly what unfolded and believe the 911 call came from the father of the kids.

The chief added that the Baytown Dive Team has been notified and will swim the area to check for possible evidence.
