HPD investigating after woman injured in drive-by shooting in southwest Houston


HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A woman was having an outdoor dinner with her family when police said she was injured in a drive-by shooting in southwest Houston.

The shooting happened just before 10:30 p.m. Friday in the 5800 block of Glenmont.

As the man was running, police said someone in a vehicle began shooting toward him, but injured the woman instead.

The woman was shot in the stomach and was taken to a nearby hospital, according to the Houston Police Department. She is expected to be OK.

HPD said it is still investigating.

Police added that children were also outside at the time of the shooting, but only the woman was injured.
