HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department is investigating after a woman was killed during a shooting at a nightclub in southwest Houston early Sunday.
Officers said the shooting happened in the 8500 block along Southwest Freeway near Gessner.
HPD said officers arrived and found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound in the passenger seat of a car. She was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
According to investigators, who responded to the initial scene, the shooting unfolded after the gunshot victim and another woman got into an argument as they began to leave the establishment.
Officers stated their boyfriends then stepped in, pulled out guns, and opened fire.
In an update shortly before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, police said they didn’t want to discuss the relationships among those involved.
Officials said the driver of the car was shot in the back and was taken to the hospital.
HPD said there are no suspects in custody, but officials said multiple people at hospitals reported that they had been shot in that same area.
