Parents discover messages from 30-year-old man sent to their 12-year-old daughter on school laptop, docs say

SPRING, Texas (KTRK) — A 30-year-old man in Spring is accused of trying to entice a 12-year-old girl by sending messages to her school-issued laptop.

Shamone Sanford has been charged with the felony of enticing a child. In court documents reviewed by ABC13, the girl’s parents first alerted Klein ISD Police when they noticed messages from an adult to their daughter on the school-issued Chromebook.

The disturbing messages laid out in court documents show Sanford allegedly asking to meet up with the girl at her school bus stop and other locations.

On September 23, records show Sanford and the girl messaged multiple times. The following is part of that exchange, according to court documents.

Sanford: “wat are some things Yu would like to do with me since we together.”

Minor: “idk anything”

Sanford “Yu gotta lmk wat Yu want to do.. and wa Yu mean anything? anything I want to do are Yu down to do it?”

Minor: “Anything you wanna do”

Records show Klein ISD Police also believed one of Sanford’s sisters helped identify the girl, and that they likely attended school together. Investigators also believe this is not the first time Sanford has tried to entice young girls.

Oct. 10, last Friday, while police were already monitoring their communications, he allegedly messaged her again, saying the following, according to court documents.

Sanford: “I want to see yu when I get off work at 4 am”

Sanford: “Bae txt me I need your company”

Sanford: “I’ll be there at 4:30”

Sanford: “Bae where Yu at?”

Sanford: “Come to the stop sign.”

After that exchange, authorities say Sanford and the girl met up for about half an hour at a nearby park. Later that same day, Sanford was found and located at his apartment complex within walking distance of the girl’s bus stop.

Sanford is currently on parole after serving time for a 2013 aggravated robbery case. He is now in jail, and if he makes bond, he must stay away from the girl and her family.

Klein ISD is on fall break this week, so nobody was available to comment. However, they confirmed that the school district’s police department is also working with the Texas Department of Public Safety on this case. Additional charges are possible.
