CYPRESS, Texas (KTRK) — The TABC has confirmed it’s waiting on lab results after testing multiple liquor bottles at a Cypress bar for possible contamination.
The investigation began on Oct. 7 after the TABC said multiple people got sick and went to the hospital after drinking at Bedrock Tavern on Grant Road.
Bedrock’s owner told Eyewitness News she alerted authorities out of an abundance of caution after checking with her distributor.
“We want to protect the people that go into our bar,” she said.
The TABC didn’t elaborate on what symptoms the sick customers exhibited or what they suspect the liquor could have been contaminated with. They also didn’t specify what type of liquor they’re looking at.
But the TABC is stressing it believes this is an “isolated incident involving a single licensed location.”
Eyewitness News saw TABC agents returning to the bar on Wednesday afternoon. They met with the manager for over an hour before leaving.
