HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Two patrol vehicles were hit by suspected impaired drivers Saturday night, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
HCSO personnel were providing traffic control outside a large public event at FM-1960 East and Belleau Wood Drive in the Humble area when the two separate crashes occurred, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
A sergeant was in her vehicle when it was rear-ended by a driver who showed signs of intoxication, HCSO said. They added that the driver was arrested for DWI, and the sergeant was treated for minor injuries at an urgent care clinic and has been released.
During the investigation, HCSO officials said a second driver struck the rear of another unoccupied patrol vehicle. This driver also showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for DWI, according to Gonzalez.
