Authorities seek help in identifying sexual assault suspect known as ‘Cowboy’ who frequents north Harris County bars, HCSO says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities are calling for the public’s help in identifying a sexual assault suspect.

According to authorities, the suspect claims to possibly be a retired Harris County Sheriff’s Office Deputy, and is known only by the nickname of “Cowboy.”

The sheriff’s office added he is known to frequent nightclubs in the north Harris County area, along FM 1960, particularly Chayn’s Nightclub in the 3900 block of FM 1960 – where employees reportedly also only know him as “Cowboy.”

The suspect is described as a Black man, who is about 50 years old and is 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Detectives said they believe there may be additional victims as he regularly frequents nightclubs and approaches unsuspecting women, gaining their trust through manipulation and creating a false sense of closeness.

Authorities allege he later takes them to a hotel and assaults them.

Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to contact the sheriff’s office adult sex crimes office at 713-274-9174 or send them an email, and refer to case No. 2303-09212.
