Man arrested for getting on a Spring ISD bus with a gun, court documents reveal

SPRING, Texas (KTRK) — Chilling details were revealed in court documents from an incident in which officers said a man got onto a Spring ISD bus full of students.

On Tuesday, court records reveal 20-year-old David Madison of Spring was arrested and charged with three felonies. The arrest comes a day after the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said a man got onto a bus with a gun.

Surveillance video from a neighbor’s home captured the terrifying moments as the bus was blocked by an SUV.

Someone from the vehicle approached the bus and demanded that the door be opened, the documents read.

The documents state the driver told police, “She was frozen with fear and felt that the defendant would shoot her if she did not comply with his demands and open the door.”

Officers said Madison was targeting an ex-girlfriend, who was on the bus. The documents state, “The defendant opened the bus doors and pointed the firearm at her, grabbed her arm, and attempted to physically remove her from the bus against her will by pulling her by the arm.”

Officers said that when the student wouldn’t leave, the man took off. Before he did, the bus driver told police she heard him say to the female student, “I’ll get you later.”

Documents show there were 24 students on the bus at the time of the incident, and the suspect pointed the weapon at some of them.

Madison is charged with aggravated assault on a public servant, attempted aggravated kidnapping, and terroristic threat, the documents read. Madison appeared in front of a judge on Tuesday evening, according to records.

Before the judge talked about the charges, he issued an emergency order of protection for the female student.

According to documents, Madison’s bond was not set. The judge said that could happen on Wednesday when he appears in court.
