New details emerge on wanted suspect who evaded capture in north Harris County, Constable Mark Herman says


HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — New details have emerged about a search for an evading suspect in north Harris County on Saturday, according to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman.

Herman said that the wanted suspect has been identified as James Willis, 35, of Dallas, Texas. Willis is currently facing charges of family violence, evading arrest, and carjacking, according to Herman.

On Saturday, Herman said that constable deputies searched for five hours in the 18200 block of Westfield Place near the North Freeway. Authorities believe Willis may have fled to the Dallas area.

Herman said that the suspect, Willis, complained of chest pains and deputies transported him to a hospital. He escaped from HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest hospital during medical tests on Saturday and carjacked a nearby driver. According to Herman, the driver took an unarmed Willis, several blocks before he jumped out and fled again.
