HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A bicyclist was killed in a deadly crash with an SUV in east Houston on Tuesday night, the Houston Police Department said.
According to Sgt. Griffiths of HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Unit, a man was riding a bicycle along Market Street when an SUV driving on N. Wayside crashed into him.
“The vehicle did have the green light,” Griffiths said. “Unfortunately, the vehicle didn’t see the bicyclist until it was too late.”
Police said the bicyclist later died from his injuries.
The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene, according to authorities, and did not have any signs of impairment or intoxication.
The names of the bicyclist and the driver were not immediately released by officials.
