2 suspects arrested following METRO bus shooting that killed woman, injured teen, HPD says


HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Two people have been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of a woman on a METRO bus, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD previously released surveillance photos of two suspects captured on METRO bus cameras on Thursday morning.

On Thursday afternoon, HPD confirmed to ABC13 that the two suspects in the photos are the ones arrested.

According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at 10800 Richmond Avenue.

Officials said that METRO police officers responded to the scene and found a 25-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was described as an innocent bystander by authorities.

Houston Fire Department paramedics then took the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to authorities.

Officials added that a 16-year-old boy was also injured by gunfire in the incident.

HPD detectives said further investigation revealed that two suspects, both males believed to be between the ages of 16 and 18, were arguing when the victims were shot. Both suspects fled the scene on foot, according to detectives.

Police at one point said there was one suspect in this case, but they are now saying there are two suspects.
