HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A homeless man was killed and a security guard was injured in a shooting outside a bar near a METRORail station in Midtown, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said officers responded to a call Friday night in the 2400 block of Main Street, outside Playground Bar.
Photos from the scene showed officers investigating on the nearby McGowen METRORail station platform after the shooting.
When officers arrived, they said the Houston Fire Department was already there, treating a victim with multiple gunshot wounds. That person was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Lt. Khan said another man with gunshot wounds was critically injured and rushed to the hospital.
HPD told Eyewitness News on Friday that the man who died was believed to be homeless, and the injured man worked as a security guard.
Lt. Khan said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact the police.
