Body found on Almeda Genoa Road nearby crashed car involved in separate hit-and-run near W. Fuqua: HPD

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department is investigating two separate hit-and-run scenes after a 67-year-old man was found dead on the city’s southside early Friday morning.

HPD said officers responded to the 400 block of Almeda Genoa near Aldenwale Lane after someone called about a body in the road.

In a statement, officers said the man was in the eastbound lanes of the road when he was hit by a vehicle of unknown make or model. They added that the vehicle did not stop to render aid, and that a second driver spotted the man and called 911.

At the same time, officials said they found a white SUV crashed nearby that may have been involved in a separate accident.

Officials said that the SUV may have hit another vehicle on West Fuqua near a McDonald’s and fled the scene before crashing almost an hour before the body in the road was found.

No driver was found in the area, and no arrests have been made, HPD said.

HPD said it will continue combing through the details, although there were no witnesses or video.
