Houston Texans trail at halftime in divisional playoff game against New England Patriots

The Houston Texans trail at halftime in their game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, as they hope for the opportunity to appear in the AFC Championship for the first time in franchise history.

At the end of the first quarter, the Texans trailed the Patriots 7-3, with Ka’imi Fairbairn scoring a field goal after the Patriots scored a touchdown. Despite Christian Kirk scoring a touchdown in the second quarter, the divide grew larger as the Patriots scored an additional two touchdowns, ending the quarter 21-10.

The divisional playoff game, played in Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., is a tough test for the Texans as they face a Patriots team tied for the best records in the NFL, on the road and in the cold.

Both of the Texans’ previous playoff appearances in Gillette Stadium have been unsuccessful, but they also had never won a playoff road game until they swarmed their way to a 30-6 win over the Steelers last week.

If they win, the Texans will face the Broncos next in Denver.
