THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KTRK) — The former Memorial Hermann The Woodland’s hospital employee accused of hiding cameras in multiple hospital bathrooms went before a magistrate judge in Montgomery County on Thursday.
In a prison jumpsuit and handcuffs, Robert Pinon Shrader didn’t say a word as he appeared before the magistrate. Shrader was arrested on one count of invasive visual recording on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Montgomery County District Attorney filed six additional counts.
“I have reviewed the probable cause statements on the six new charges sent over this morning, and I am finding probable cause in those,” the magistrate said.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Shrader was working at the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands hospital when he was accused of hiding two cameras in two unisex bathrooms.
An arrest warrant claims over 300 videos and images were recovered, showing multiple people in various states of undress. Records show that the camera also captured images of Shrader as he hid it.

The sheriff’s office said they kicked off a criminal investigation after the first camera was discovered on Aug. 21 by a crew servicing the HVAC system. Court records state the third camera was discovered still in the box, in Shrader’s hospital office.
On Wednesday, an arrest warrant was served on Shrader at his Magnolia home.
His seven charges earned him a $35,000 bond, which online records show he has posted. Now, Shrader’s lawyer, Brian Foley, wants to know if more charges could be coming down the pipeline.
“So we can make an intelligent decision, is there any anticipation from the DA’s office that there are other charges than these, or is this it?” Foley asked.
“I can’t advise on this right now. I’m sure our office will reach out to you,” a representative with the DA’s office responded.
Foley told ABC13 that the state has handed over little information to his office and said Shrader has no previous criminal record, and his office has had no opportunity to review any allegations of wrongdoing.
Eyewitness News has also learned that Shrader was a Cypress-Fairbanks ISD High School teacher for about five years before resigning at the end of 2011. The district told ABC13 Shrader’s reason for resigning was so he could return to school.
