HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES — She has an Oscar, a SAG award, an Emmy, a Tony nomination, and now, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Actress Jessica Chastain received her star Thursday surrounded by her fans, family, friends, and two colleagues who have had a major impact on her career: Academy Award winners Al Pacino and Viola Davis. All three actors have become kindred spirits who love their craft.
“Jessica, you understand the task of being an artist,” Davis told Chastain during Thursday’s ceremony. “I love how you do what you do.”
Chastain won the Academy Award, SAG Award, and Critics Choice Award for “The Eyes of Tammy Faye.”
She also earned Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG nominations for Showtime’s “George & Tammy,” and received a Tony nomination and Drama Desk Award for “A Doll’s House on Broadway.”
She also got Oscar nominations for “The Help” and “Zero Dark Thirty.”
“Standing in front of this star, I feel the weight and great gift of what we get to do in Hollywood, so this star to me, it’s not an end point, it’s a mile marker,” said Chastain. “It says, ‘Keep going.’ To my friends, my teachers, my collaborators, you guys turned a shy, awkward drama kid into a woman who believed that stories can save lives. I’m honored, I’m humbled, and I am so excited to see what we make together next.”
Chastain is now working on the Apple TV+ series “The Savant,” which will see her as a star and a producer.
