HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Following its London Premiere, a new musical is now on stage here in Houston at the Hobby Center.
American Psycho is described as stylish, twisted, and unforgettable. Actor Paul Schwensen joined Eyewitness News live Thursday morning for a preview.
Schwensen plays Paul Owen in the musical. He said the director challenged him to bring the character to life with empathy and authenticity despite the dark horror aspects of the story. The theme might appear shallow initially, but Schwensen said he wants audiences to see the story as a portrayal of the lengths it can take to find something that feels real.
American Psycho is not a show for young audiences. It’s on stage through September 14 at The Hobby Center.
