Disney is kicking off the holiday season in “spectacular” fashion with “The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular.”
“Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough serves as host. He’ll also perform.
“What fans can expect from the wonderful world of Disney holiday spectacular is of course a magical and jam-packed show filled with music and dancing of course,” Hough told On The Red Carpet. “I love the holidays, I love Disney and bringing those two worlds together is truly a dream come true.”
The special, which is celebrating its10th year, will be narrated by “Zootopia 2” star Ginnifer Goodwin and features performances by Aloe Blacc, Good Charlotte, Coco Jones, Mariah The Scientist, Bebe Rexha, Nicole Scherzinger, Gwen Stefani, “American Idol” season 21 winner Iam Tongi and Trisha Yearwood.
The performances will take place at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disneyland Resort in California and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii.
“Performing here was so magical, just seeing all the lights and Cinderella’s gorgeous castle and my mother is here with me,” said Rexha, who will be singing “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.”
“It’s just been such an incredible experience.”
Blacc wants audiences to get their singing voices ready!
“Expect a lot of soul, a lot of fun and some singalong. I love it when the audience sings along with me,” he said.
For Stefani, performing at the Disneyland Resort felt like coming home.
“Being part of the holiday tradition here at Disneyland feels like I’m in a dream that i never dreamt I could have,” she said. “I grew up here in Anaheim, so to be here doing Christmas music and being part of people’s holiday is beyond!”
“I am just going to channel all the beautiful energy and spirit and magic of this place and I’m gonna sing my heart out,” said Scherzinger.
“The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular” will also give viewers a special look at “Avatar: Fire and Ash” with the film’s stars from Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. And it’ll celebrate “Zootopia 2” with Ke Huy Quan from Disneyland Resort.
The special airs Monday, December 1 on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu and Disney+.
