Harris County Pct. 3 sergeant Robert Nobles relieved of duty amid investigation, Pct. 3’s office says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — The Baytown Police Department said that three nurses were assaulted at a hospital in Baytown on New Year’s Day.

According to the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, Sergeant Robert Nobles was criminally charged with three counts of assault.

The Baytown Police Department said officers responded to an assault call at Baytown Methodist Hospital on Garth Road early Thursday morning. Police say the suspect hit three registered nurses who were who performing their duties, using his hands and hospital equipment.

Baytown police did not identify Nobles by name and said that the suspect is under medical care.

Law enforcement said that Nobles was eventually detained after he fled through portions of the hospital. Police said that one of the victims was pregnant at the time of the assault.

An investigation is still ongoing.
