HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after the Houston Avenue Bridge was hit again on Monday evening, according to TxDOT.
According to the Houston Police Department, the call was dropped at 7:32 p.m. in the 1400 block of the I-10 Katy Freeway, involving an 18-wheeler and a lost load. There are no injuries reported.
TxDOT says that multiple main lanes of I-10 EB are blocked, with the Houston police assisting with traffic control.
The bridge hit marks the third time in less than a week and the 69th time this year, according to TxDOT.
In an effort to solve the issue, TxDOT is working on the I-10 White Oak Bayou project, which includes removing the bridge by the end of 2027 and raising I-10 over Houston Avenue by 2028.
