Houston police sergeant accused of repeated domestic violence and violating bond, court records show

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A Houston police sergeant is accused of assaulting a female relative while out on bond for allegedly assaulting her in a separate incident in April.

Charging documents state Houston Police Sergeant Michael Saldivar is accused of threatening the woman with a gun on April 19. Bond documents indicate he was intoxicated at the time. His bond conditions ordered Saldivar to stop consuming alcohol, engage with a recovery center, and stay 200 feet away from the woman.

However, on August 5, he allegedly showed up at the woman’s house intoxicated and pushed her.

Court documents show Saldivar bonded out within a few hours of each arrest. After the August incident, a judge approved a protective order for the woman.

A Houston police public information officer told ABC13 that Saldivar is “relieved of duty pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.” A financial affidavit indicates that Saldivar has been employed by the department for over 30 years.
