HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities say debris cleanup is underway along a portion of the East Freeway on Friday.
Lt. Terry Garza with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said there is dry tar and lumber on the freeway, forcing a complete shutdown of the westbound lanes at Cedar Lane.
Houston TranStar states the incident was reported at about 11:16 a.m.
Garza said it appears a vehicle dropped the materials on the roadway and did not stop.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area as all westbound traffic is being forced to exit the freeway at Bayou/Cedar Lane.
