LA MARQUE, Texas (KTRK) — La Marque police are working to track down a suspect who barricaded himself inside a home and possibly escaped following an investigation into a woman’s death on Tuesday night.
Officials asked people to stay away from the area of Kirsten and Cedar as they were working an active shooting scene and said there was an armed suspect barricaded inside a home.
The person of interest in question is 18-year-old Keith Smith Ray Junior.
A search warrant was granted, and officers made their way inside the home where the shooting of a 36-year-old woman happened. Officials said the woman did not survive.
Officially, officers did not find the 18-year-old inside the home.
The connection between Ray and the woman remains unknown, but officials are currently investigating his whereabouts.
The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office is working with La Marque police in the investigation.
Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call law enforcement.
