LOS ANGELES — Hollywood was feeling the girl power Thursday night at the premiere of Hulu’s “All’s Fair.”
The drama series, created by Ryan Murphy, stars Kim Kardashian (“Allura Grant”), Sarah Paulson (“Carrington Lane”), Niecy Nash-Betts (“Emerald Greene”), Glenn Close (“Dina Standish”), Teyana Taylor (“Milan”), Naomi Watts (“Liberty Ronson”) and more in 10 thrilling episodes, following an all-female team of divorce lawyers.
“All’s Fair” premieres November 4 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
Kardashian, who is pursuing her own law degree, told On The Red Carpet that someone from her personal life inspired her character.
“Allura Grant is just a really strong, bad-ass woman. I kinda modeled the character after Laura Wasser. She’s a divorce attorney. She’s- has been mine. And you know, I just think she’s always so strong and let’s people, I would say, believe, but like- make sure that everything’s going to be okay. And I think that’s the energy we give to these women,” she said.
Paulson, who is known for her physical transformations in Murphy’s many series, holds nothing back in this one, where she completely embodies Kardashian’s famous look. Their characters go head-to-head in this series, and we caught a glimpse of that in the trailer.
“Please know that this look is-” Carrington begins.
“Mine,” Allura cuts off.
“Nothing more than next Halloween’s costume,” Carrington retorts.
Paulson explained, “Yeah, you see me dressing up as Kim, which is one of the great days on set and a real testament to Kim’s sense of play, and fun, and her sense of humor, that she was like, ‘Bring it! I can’t wait.'”
They even had it down to the specific shades of makeup.
“Like my makeup artist was talking to her makeup artist about what color lip liner it was, and we were doing a full ‘Kim’ glam, and it was like, ‘By the way, I’ve never looked hotter.'”
Niecy Nash-Betts told us what it was like on set with Kardashian.
“Watching Kim multi-task. She will have one baby on FaceTime. She’ll have a law book in her lap. She’ll have a computer next to her running her business. She will say, ‘Hey, yes. Let’s run lines.’ She makes us all feel like we’re not doing enough,” she joked.
