HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — If you see Klein Collins senior Olivia Rodriguez on a Friday night, you can’t help but notice her spirit and energy.
“Cheer is definitely where my passion is, just being hype, being loud, smiling all the time,” Rodriguez said.
She pours the same passion into everything she does.
Q: How much free time do you have?
A: “Maybe a midday Saturday and an afternoon Sunday, but that’s pretty much it.”
That’s because her time is valuable, honoring, and keeping a tight schedule.
“Minute by minute, every day’s scheduled, every day is filled to the brim”, the senior said.
She’s a record-holding swimmer and swim instructor who is heavily involved in her church and leads community service projects outside school.
“I know that my good deeds are for the good of others, and so it makes me really happy to see other people happy”, she said.

At school, she’s a four-time all-American and varsity cheer captain, a great student who has been part of the early learning teaching program since her freshman year of high school.
“We go and we teach the students hands-on, planning about two lessons a week”, Rodriguez said.
“Every Monday and Friday, we’re making sure we have everything ready. Everything is good for the student, so that we can give them the pre-K curriculum,” Olivia said.
Planning and teaching lay the foundation for what she’ll do at Nelson University next year and beyond.
“I’m going to be involved with Student Missions Association, and so I’ll be planning to lead my first mission trip as a freshman to Cuba,” she said.
You can bet outside teaching, she’ll lead and serve with the same spirit she has on Friday night.
