MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A suspect is now behind bars after leading authorities on a chase from a robbery in The Woodlands, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities identified the suspect as Jontravous Jones, 24, who is from Atlanta, Georgia. Jones is now in jail on charges of robbery and evading arrest in a motor vehicle, according to law enforcement.
On Friday, Montgomery County deputies responded to a robbery at the Louis Vuitton store in The Woodlands.
According to authorities, an off-duty Harris County deputy witnessed the incident, and gave a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which was a white Ford F-150 with Home Depot markings.
Deputies found the suspect’s vehicle on the I-45 service road near Sawdust Road, the sheriff’s office said. The suspect then fled, and initiated a police chase that continued onto the Hardy Toll Road. In the pursuit, the suspect struck two vehicles near I-610. The chases ended at the intersection of the North Freeway and Yale Street when the suspect ran a red light and crashed into 2 passenger vehicles and a METRO bus, officials said. The suspect was later apprehended by deputies after attempting to flee on foot.
Houston Fire Department officials arrived on the scene to give treatment to the victims, who were taken to a hospital.
Deputies say that the suspect, Jones, was treated and released from a Houston-area hospital before being transported into the Montgomery County Jail.
According to deputies, investigators believe Jones might be connected to more Louis Vuitton robberies and thefts in other cities.
