HOUSTON., Texas (KTRK) — Houston police are investigating after a man was found in a pool of blood in north Houston overnight after a reported burglary.
Officials stated that after 2 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Blue Bell Road in response to a call about a burglary in progress.
Once officers arrived, the Houston Police Department said they found an unidentified man unresponsive in an alleyway near a home with a large amount of blood next to him.

In an update, HPD said the medical examiner determined that the man had cut his arm on some glass while trying to break into the home.
HPD did speak with the homeowners, who said they did not know who the man is.
No other injuries were reported as police continue the investigation.
