MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A Montgomery County grand jury has decided not to indict Houston Texans safety Jimmie Ward after he was arrested back in the summer for alleged domestic assault.
Court records said the jury did not find any probable cause that Ward committed the crimes for which he is accused.
Back in June, court records showed Ward was arrested for a domestic assault charge. While investigators didn’t provide specific details at the time, according to a lawsuit, he barged into the woman’s Magnolia home and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

It was also believed that Ward was high on meth.
The woman said she was”violently assaulted multiple times, both sexually and physically” by Ward, but was able to escape and call 911.
It was confirmed that the woman was Ward’s fiancée and the two shared a 3-year-old child, who was at home during the alleged assault.
Then, in August, he was arrested again for violating his previous bond conditions by testing positive for alcohol. He was ordered to spend an evening in jail, officials said.
The woman filed a lawsuit against Ward in Harris County on Aug. 21, seeking damages in excess of $20 million.
Ward is currently on the NFL’s commissioner exempt list stemming from his arrest in Montgomery County, Texas on June 12 for the alleged family violence in his Magnolia home. Ward may not practice or attend games while on the list.
ABC13 contacted the Houston Texans on Thursday, who said they had no comment at this time.
Ward’s attorney released this statement following the dismissal:
Today, we presented our grand jury packet and evidence to the grand jury to show that Mr. Ward was factually innocent of the allegations against him. The district attorney also provided information to the grand jury, which we believe assisted the grand jury in coming to the conclusion that Mr. Ward should be no-billed.
