HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A boy died, and a girl was hurt during a large gathering at Cloverland Park in southeast Houston on Saturday night, according to the Houston Police Department.
HPD said the shooting happened late Saturday night in the 3800 block of Hickok Lane, where a large crowd had gathered, possibly for a block party. Details about what led up to the shooting are still limited.
“Once officers arrived, they were met with a large crowd…they also found a female with a gunshot wound to the leg area and a male with a gunshot wound to the stomach area,” Lt. Ali with the HPD said.
Ali said both minors were transported to the hospital, where the girl was stabilized, but the boy did not survive.
Investigators said both victims are juveniles; the girl is 15 years old, but the boy’s age has not been released yet.
“What we know about the incident is very little at this time,” Ali said. “We don’t have any suspect information at this time or any vehicle information at this time.”
Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact HPD’s Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers of Houston at (713) 521-4600.
