Pct. 3 deputy constable Sgt. under medical care after attacking three nurses, police say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A Harris County Precinct 3 Deputy Constable Sgt. is under medical care, police say, after they say he violently attacked three nurses at Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital.

Police say one of those nurses was pregnant.

Robert Earl Nobles Junior had been a Harris County Pct. 3 Deputy Constable Sergeant since 2017, according to the agency’s social media posts.

But, he was relieved of duty on the first day of 2026, after Baytown police say he attacked three nurses.

According to court documents, Nobles was waiting for an MRI at Houston Methodist Baytown when one nurse told police she heard screaming coming from his room.

After she checked on him, records show the nurse reported Nobles chased her and punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground.

Records show another nurse, who told police she was 26 weeks pregnant, reported she was trying to call security when Nobles then ran toward her, allegedly grabbing a printer and hitting her in the head twice with it.

That nurse said she fell to the ground and said he then grabbed a computer monitor and slammed it onto her back.

A third nurse reported trying to run away.

But, she said Nobles punched her so hard in the back of her head that she lost consciousness.

One nurse described Nobles as staring “as if he was detached from the world.”

Police say by the time they arrived, Nobles was sedated by doctors’ order, but they say hospital surveillance video matches what the nurses told them.

He was scheduled to be in court on Monday, but did not make that appearance.

Police say that the man remains under medical care, but federal health law keeps the agency from revealing what exactly that means.
