HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities say the search is on for two masked men behind a deadly robbery at a taco truck in north Houston.
The Houston Police Department said at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, officers were called out to the shooting at the taco truck in the 1019 block of West Dyna near Airline, just off the North Freeway, and found a man shot to death.
“(The victim) was found by his family members that arrived on scene, as they were worried because they had not heard from him since he said he was going to be closing up,” HPD Lt. Kahn said.
Surveillance video obtained by ABC13 shows one masked suspect open fire and lean through the window to keep shooting. The other suspect takes the money.
“It’s heartbreaking because he’s such a good person for that to happen to him,” said a man who knew the victim.
Those who knew him did not want to show their face due to safety concerns, but said he’s been at this location for years.
“Everyone knows him as an amazing person that was here and would help anyone with anything. If anything he would be with us, he would be talking over here, and mostly for my dad he would always be here when he needed help.”
As the search for the two suspects continues, they hope justice will be served.
“Just turn yourself in, it’s not worth it, just confess to everything, it’s not right to do that.”
Anyone with information on this case is urged to call HPD at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
