LOS ANGELES — Nothing spells magic like family.
On Thursday, Disney revealed the official trailer for season two of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” a continuation of the hit Disney Channel series “Wizards of Waverly Place,” featuring the return of executive producer Selena Gomez as Alex Russo.
The trailer also offered a sneak peek at guest stars Freya Skye (“ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires”), Bill Chott, Sean Whalen and Amanda Tepe, while exploring new dynamics between the Russo family.
Fans will recall the season one finale led to many developments, including the discovery of Roman and Milo’s new magical powers, making life for Billie a little more complicated.
Now, Justin is tasked with training the three young wizards to compete in the Family Wizard Competition, much like in the original series.
Season two premieres with two episodes on Friday, Sept. 12, on Disney Channel (7:00 p.m. EDT/PDT) and Disney Channel On Demand. All episodes will be available on Disney+ on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
The series stars David Henrie (as Justin Russo), Janice LeAnn Brown (as Billie), Alkaio Thiele (as Roman Russo), Max Matenko (as Milo Russo), Taylor Cora (as Winter) and Mimi Gianopulos (as Giada Russo).
Joining executive producer Selena Gomez in guest roles for the second season include Freya Skye, Harvey Guillén, Kirsten Vangsness, Bill Chott, Sean Whalen, Amanda Tepe, Recker Eans, Tobias Jelinek, Patrick Bristow and Eleanor Sweeney.
All episodes of the first season are currently available on Disney+.
