HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Dust those hats and boots off, y’all!
On Wednesday, RodeoHouston took to Times Square in New York for an unforgettable Texas-sized announcement. During the surprise pop-up, it was revealed that multi-platinum country music artist Russell Dickerson has been added to the Entertainment lineup and will perform on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at NRG Stadium.
Dickerson set off the reveal with a full-sized band and dancers in western apparel, performing in front of hundreds of fans while singing his now-TikTok-viral hit “Happen to Me.” This will be his first appearance at the Houston rodeo.
Riley Green wasn’t kidding when he sang “Ain’t My Last Rodeo.” The country singer returns to the rotating Star Stage, kicking off the lineup on Monday, March 2.
The rest of the lineup includes: J Balvin, Rascal Flatts, Russell Dickerson, Lizzo, Dwight Yoakam, Forrest Frank, Luke Bryan, Megan Maroney, Creed, Chris Stapleton, Shaboozey, Kelly Clarkson, Pepe Aguilar, Cross Canadian Ragweed, The Red Clay Strays, Koe Wetzel, Laney Wilson, Parker McCollum, Tim McGraw, Cody Johnson.
Johnson, known for the unofficial RodeoHouston anthem “Welcome to the Show,” will perform. Johnson, a Texas native, will have a full-length concert-only performance scheduled at the conclusion of the rodeo on March 22, 2026. His opening acts include MCA Nashville artist Jon Pardi and Randy Houser.

“Over the years, Cody has become a part of our beloved tradition – from captivating thousands year-after-year to recording RODEOHOUSTON’s official brand anthem,” Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo president and CEO, Chris Boleman said. “We are thrilled he is just as honored as we are to return in 2026.”
The concert tickets go on sale on Jan. 15 in two waves, one will start at 10 a.m., and the other will be at 2 p.m.
Over 400 artists have performed at RODEOHOUSTON. Gene Autry did it first in 1942.
