HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man accused of hitting and killing a person, then driving off, in southwest Houston this weekend, made his first court appearance on Sunday.
Court records show Yimmy Ulloa-Padilla is charged with DWI and failing to stop and render aid. Records also show Ulloa-Padilla turned 20 years old Sunday.
Houston police allege Ulloa-Padilla was driving south on Country Creek near Club Creek Drive when he reportedly hit a person walking and drove off at approximately 9:45 p.m. Friday. Ulloa-Padilla’s car was found about four miles from the crash site, according to police.
Police were unable to confirm if the victim’s family had been notified. For that reason, ABC13 is withholding the victim’s name. Police said they died at the scene.
The magistrate said there is an immigration hold on Ulloa-Padilla’s case.
