The determination, loss, and love behind Dona Leti’s

HOUSTON, Texas — Walking into Dona Leti’s, you can’t miss the tributes and mural to the restaurant’s namesake, Ana Leticia Hernandez.

After years of hustle and determination, her three children are ensuring that her dream and memory never fade.

“My mom is honestly the hardest-working individual I’ve ever laid eyes on,” Son, Julio Lozano shared. “From an early age, she taught us how to work hard, she taught us how to value each other, how to value family.”

Hernandez is originally from El Salvador. Lozano said when their father died, she moved the family to the United States, seeking the best for her children.

“She had two, three jobs, whatever she had to do, she would do it,” Daughter, Marcela Lozano, remembered.

One of those jobs was making fruit cups and fruit arrangements. Things would not be the same after that. In the video above, hear about the opening of her restaurant and how her children are keeping her legacy alive following her death.

Dona Leti’s has two Houston locations: 7340 Washington Ave and 10425 South Post Oak Road.
